Violin Sizing
To measure for the correct violin size, measure the length between 1) the neck and middle of the left-hand palm and 2) the neck and the middle of the left wrist. These measurements are taken with the hand fully extended and raised perpendicular to the body.
The violin size determined by the neck/wrist approach would be the ideal size for comfort. The violin size determined by the neck/mid-palm approach would be the biggest size the student should use.
For those that are in between two sizes, consider that children go through growth phases and may outgrow a size in several months.
